I pay $23/mo for my SimpliSafe home security system. This plan is no longer available, and it doesn't include the ability to schedule arming the system. Every night I have to hit a button to arm it. If I want to schedule arming, I have to upgrade to the Core plan for $33/mo.
SimpliSafe sells a key fob with a button that arms the system when you press it. So I bought one, soldered a couple wires to the button, and hooked them to a timer relay module from Amazon. I configured the timer module to turn on the relay for 1 second every 24 hours. Now every night at 11pm, my SimpliSafe robot presses the button for me and arms the system.
The keyfob is $25 and the module is $12, so this little robot will pay for itself in 4 months.
