Found a vendor called Phidgets who has a nice selection of linear motion parts for a good value, especially the hollow steel rails. This design could be revisited since it mainly needs flushing out in the design and 4 Z screws, not 2.
Learned way later that 5mm pitch is too slow unless you are capable of 3k rpm or better.
