Docs are hard (but they're done)

It’s been quiet here, mostly because we’ve been hard at work beta testing Dr. PD: finding bugs, fixing bugs, finding more bugs… you get the picture.

But it hasn’t all been digital entomology. We’ve also made some important additions.

First, we redesigned the front panel with larger, easier-to-read text and a new layout that’s mirrored in the web client. Depending on Dr. PD’s operating mode, the interface now shows you how to connect your devices under test (DUTs). It also animates the current path between the USB-C ports and banana jacks whenever it detects current flowing.

Most importantly, we’ve added a complete set of documentation. It covers everything from basic connectivity and operation to troubleshooting, along with interactive schematics, PCB layouts, and a detailed explanation of the hardware’s design principles.

Writing good documentation is hard—and takes a surprising amount of time! If you read through the Dr. PD docs and have any feedback, we’d love to hear it. Leave a comment here or email us at hello@t76.org.
