Quorum-NV

A low-cost kit for hands on quantum hardware education

Similar projects worth following
Quorum-NV is a low-cost, open-source nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center platform designed to make hands-on quantum sensing more accessible. Built around a diamond containing NV centers, the system combines a 520 nm laser, microwave drive, fluorescence detection, and custom control electronics to demonstrate optically detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) on the bench.

The goal of the project is to lower the barrier to entry for NV-center experiments by creating a compact, modular kit that can be built, modified, and understood without requiring a full research lab. The platform brings together optics, RF electronics, embedded control, and quantum measurement in a single system, making it useful not only as a demonstrator but also as a development platform for experimentation and future extensions.

This project documents the hardware design, electronics, software, mechanical parts, and build process behind Quorum-NV, along with the lessons learned in turning a complex quantum sensing exper
