Description

Mini PET Prompt is a completed palm-sized desktop decoration inspired by the Commodore PET. Its 0.42-inch OLED presents green text, including “31743 BYTES FREE” and the familiar “READY.” prompt. The tiny illuminated display recreates a recognizable part of the early personal-computing experience.

The body is resin 3D-printed, retaining the wedge-shaped chassis and angular monitor profile associated with the PET. A textured off-white finish gives the enclosure the appearance of aged beige plastic. The miniature keyboard has hand-painted characters, with deliberately worn and faded details to suggest years of use.

A cast-resin lens sits at the monitor and reproduces the subtle curvature of a vintage CRT screen. This combines the small OLED with an optical and enclosure treatment that suits the older computer design. The finished display is powered through micro USB.
