BlueSkyMicro is my attempt to recreate the magic on the 8/16-bit home microcomputer boom of the 80s and 90s.
It's a brand new, affordable and educational, custom 16-bit microcomputer made from affordable, hand-solderable SBC project I'm using to teach myself microelectronics, MCU programming and FPGA Synthesis.
I decided that losing the market filled by Commodore, Sinclair and Acorn was a bad thing and that it left kids without access to lightweight, low latency computers on which to learn the fundamentals.
I'm genuinely hoping that, at the very least, one kid gets inspired by it and goes onto have a productive career in computer science or EE.
So, I hope to have something to show before the end of 2026 while here at the start of November.
