Concept chart (Hardware)
04/26/2017 at 20:56 • 0 commentsAs described in the details the Cube is based on Arduino and Raspberry Pi and features a modular design. The following concept chart shows how the Hardware is built (it is not complete. i am using additional wires for synchronization purposes. You will see this in the upcoming wiring diagram)
The raspberry pi is connected to either the web browser of a mobile or the desktop application device via Wifi and sends it commands to the embedded software via RS232. The Atmega644P (with Arduino) decodes the packages and and distributes the data to the other Arduinos (Atmega48P) that control the anodes of 5x5 RGB lets. Additionally the Atmega644P controls the cathodes of the cube using multiplexing

Video of the system
04/25/2017 at 23:26 • 0 commentsI created a short video of the LED Cube with the GUIs in action. At the beginning you can see how the client application can play algorithms on the cube. Then it is shown how the cube color can be set from within the application (It is not shown how single LEDs can be switched. I will probably show this in another video). Finally The Webbrowser of a Tablet is used to control algorithms on the Cube itself without using the client application.
Enjoy!
