Description

My house has an old DSC-brand alarm system, complete with door and window sensors and a keypad. However, I would like to track the states of these sensors online, and get online alerts when they change.

Note: The battery is not plugged in here because I had removed it for inspection and I took the photo before reconnecting it.

Before embarking on a hardware journey, I wanted to get the easier (for me, as a programmer, at least) part out of the way: getting a program to coordinate this system with existing home systems and handle alerts. I just followed their official setup guide and didn't die.
