Rover will be a small autonomous ground vehicle capable of navigating to given waypoints while planning a route, avoiding obstacles, and mapping its environment as it goes. This robot could be used to take sensor measurements along a given route or to do tasks at certain locations - agricultural uses come to mind.
Rover's hardware is a prototype, and will likely be refined along the way. Software is loosely based on the Udacity/Georgia Tech OMS CS course "Artificial Intelligence for Robotics" from Sebastian Thrun. It turns out that doing this in the physical world is much more challenging than in the lab :)
