I wanted to display some special chars on the LCD. These include:
- a scorpion used for the logo
- a rotate left arrow
- a rotate right arrow
- a push down arrow

I also added the necessary bits needed to be transferred to my 4 pin connected display according to the connections from the schematic and the MCU pin assigment.
