1Step 1
Etch, mill or contract the single sided PCB. I designed it with the copper on the top layer for easy construction and USB orientation.
-
2Step 2
Solder on the two tactile switches
-
3Step 3
Solder the two 0.1" headers to your Trinket
-
4Step 4
Carefully solder the two short lengths of wire wrap wire onto each 68 ohm resistor as shown in the diagram. Be CAREFUL not to disturb any of the surface mount components while soldering. So don't drink your coffee.
-
5Step 5
Solder each wire wrap wire to the pads illustrated in the diagram.
-
6Step 6
Carefully fold the wires under between the two boards and solder on the TrinKey "shield."
-
7Step 7
Add an amount of solder to the USB pads. This will help improve contact when inserted into the USB port.
-
8Step 8
Upload the code from GIT to your Trinket.
-
9Step 9
While powered, CAREFULLY connect pin 1 to 5V. This will set the pin HIGH and will generate two 32bit passwords. The red LED should flash indicating success.
-
10Step 10
Plug the TrinKey into a computer, select a textbox with your mouse, press one of the two buttons and watch as your password is printed out!
