A series of videos where I describe how to modify a fridge compressor into a silent air compressor. I discuss the overall process, how to remove it from an old fridge, wiring, a simple homemade compression fitting and how to test the motor windings and PTC relays. If you have any questions or comments feel free to post them. I'll be adding a video on how to use them as vacuum pumps soon

Components
1×
fridge compressor
either remove one from a fridge or buy as a replacement part
1×
on/off switch
simply put it in place of the thermostat
1×
a fitting to attach to the outlet tube
I prefer to use compression fittings for convenience, but you might as well use brazing or just clamp on flexible tubing over the tube
10 litre tank to 400 psi in about 10 minutes. Overall it's flow is rather low, but it can reach much higher pressures than normal shop compressors (500 psi and more)
I have been looking into doing this to my compressor, although brand new the direct drive is far too noisy to use, would this be able to fill a large tank within a reasonable time?
