Preliminary Draft Version 3D Printed Raman Probe Assembly
01/29/2018 at 23:19 • 0 commentsMy 2nd attempt using Blender, this time I was able to integrate Luxrender 1.6.0 as an addon, so now I can render images using a lot more fancy materials and controls :) This is draft V 01.0C for the 3D printed Raman Probe assembly, and I also included a platform I built custom made just for this probe.
A little "dirty" in some spots but that's only because I'm still learning how to use the program :)

1st Render on Blender 2.79...
01/27/2018 at 22:42 • 0 commentsSo, I finally figured out Blender ( the latest version 2.79,) I was wrestling with it for a week, using a simple .stl file my Re-focusing lens mount as my object and this is how it came out...
Of course it's not gonna be blue but it just looked so pretty I couldn't resist :)

<1mm Beam divergent Laser Collimation Tube Assembly
01/22/2018 at 11:22 • 0 commentsWell this is the final component, my master piece, a <1mm beam divergent laser collimation tube assembly, totally 3D printed! I will put up the prototype of the original one I was using after I post this, because I didn't want to take it apart (really for obvious reasons as you will see,) but this collimation tube has a focal distance of 88mm, (hence the same length of the Raman probe).
The next panel image shows a transparency rendering depicting the inner workings of the assembly:
When I have some time, I will construct a build post to put in the build section of this project page.

FiberPort Coupler FC/PC 3D printed
01/16/2018 at 21:26 • 0 commentsThis is the fiber optic coupler port that connects the fiber cable coming from the Raman probe to the spectrometer. The port also has a coupler on the inner backing to re-focus the incoming beam to it's proper divergence.
Measurements are: 51mm from re-focusing lens to reflecting mirror, 61.77mm from centerline on reflecting mirror to diffraction grating, 51mm from diffraction grating to centerline on DSLR camera lens.

1st Concept CAD Renderings
01/14/2018 at 15:07 • 0 commentsThis is the CAD program I use to build all my 3D parts FreeCad V16, this is the rough draft version, I think I'll have to construct a guide rail system for the rear fiber optic coupler because alignment of the laser line must be 100% perfect as it relates to the fiber optic end point.
Even though I have built in the diaphragm laser line guide, I still need a way to make final adjustments at this end.
I will have the blueprint draft drawings up soon when I have the final version finished.
