How about a minor edit flag/mode for typo's and forgotten additions that don't generate feeds/triggers etc?

We're working on getting rid of the duplicate updates in the feed, but a minor edit flag is a good idea too.

We just added this feature. You can now edit away on logs and details and stop it from updating the feed.

Any thoughts on changing the default Projects sort from Most Skulled to Recently Updated? Or at least incorporate active projects into the default display?

Hello Zakqwy, we get a lot of new visitors to that page, which is why we've put the most popular projects first. However, we plan to remember your last sort order preference, so if you sort by newest it will remember next time you visit. Thanks for the feedback.

I've notice the view counter on my project page is showing 364 views for quiet a while now. Could it be that it is stuck?

EDIT: the view counter is definitely stuck. I went onto two different pc's and gave it a few refreshes last night, again this morning (yet another different pc)
EDIT: a few days later the view count is still at 364.

I asked about this a few weeks ago; sounds like views are updated as a batch process somewhat infrequently. Aleksandar mentioned improving this around the new year.

I would like the editor to auto-detect the camera rotation metadata of photos and automatically display them in the correct orientation, or at least allow me to rotate them manually in 90° increments.

A slash after a question mark (I presume) is erroneously interpreted as the end of the URL, for example: https://hackaday.io/project/3520/log/11714

Hello Robert_sl, I just looked at your IcePick Delta project and there does seem to be a working link in the description. Can you give me an example where it's not working and we'll take a look.

We have a limit on the length of the description, as it is meant to be an overview. A few members have requested that we add pages, or possibly a wiki feature to projects for documentation as the update nature of project logs means important info sometimes gets buried. Some members link to important project logs from the description, but that's only useful if the links work.

Thanks for your reply! That's right, links work, but I can't make part of a sentence highlighted and link to something like I can in the details section, I can only paste a whole url's.

HEEELP!!!

My Feed page is spammed with messages about other users starting to follow the projects I am following, or giving skulls or whatever. This is irrelevant for me, as a follower. All I want to have in "My feed" is about progress of the projects I am following.

Spam example:
"user123 started following project456"
then BAM! a picture of the project...

Hey zakqwy,

The update counts are currently computed as a part of batch process and updated periodically (every 2 weeks for now, also counts only show up for projects with > 50 views). We're working on improving this. While it's still going to be a batch process (we need to make sure we scrub out all the "fake" views), the update frequency should be much higher - starting Jan 1 we should move to daily view count updates.

By the way, I got an email notification that you'd replied to this comment, but when I clicked "check it out" I was taken to the first discussion page and had to click over a few times to get to page=4. Any way to make that happen automatically when someone clicks "check it out"? Some kind of comment permalink?

profile edit works for me (Chrome). To get a 502 bad gateway I have to call the search-projects-for-tags url with a non-used tag like https://hackaday.io/projects/tag/cheeseburger

I tried to add a link to a github repo (HTTPS, if it matters) to a project, and it didn't work with the "github" network. It did work if I used the "other" network. It looks like the project winds up with a link without a network.

Hey something I really need is to have the feed from other projects seperated. So Just like the "My Projects" page has seperation of my projects, so to it should be the same for the feed, then have a little ticker on how many project updates are since last read, new comments, etc. This would be very useful as right now I can't follow the projects, without scrolling through tons of garbage to get the real information on who's done what with what.

I agree that this could be good. I usually just browse by new and only go far enough to see all of the projects that have been added since my last visit, so if a project has no info right after being added, I'm likely to skip it and not see it again. If people could wait to publish their projects until they have a bit more content, I think they'd get more skulls and followers.

The obvious counter-argument is that if people can keep their projects private, then they'll do so indefinitely, reducing the number of projects actually published. While this may happen due to forgetfulness, I think it doesn't apply to people who don't intend to ever publish their projects. Currently, those people will not write up their projects on this site at all. With this feature, they may do so, keep them private for a while, and then later decide to publish them.

Having private projects may be a nice tool for smaller projects too. Sometimes it's a small thing you want to make notes to and don't want it to show in your projects pushing your big/cool/main ones out of sight.

[Bug?] My samsung galaxy 2014 tab seems to get the desktop css when in landscape mode, so opening the menu gets kind of hard because i can't hover over it and clicking will lead me to my profile page.

Hovering in general is sometimes weird on a touch device. The gallery i.e. would be great if it would work like "click small frame to view in big frame - click big frame to view original".
