HaD really needs to implement countermeasures against automated posting bots which are still flooding the forum at this moment.
I got a private message below, which is quite obviously spam. There's no button to "report" a personal message, so I'm putting it here.
If this turns out not to be spam, please let me know. :-)

Greetings
Please, would you be willing to come to France if I invited you or made arrangements for you to come to enable us actualize or close a bank deal worth 12,712,208:00 Million Euros? Please, let me know via my email address (jeanbeunardeau44@gmail.com) so that I can offer you with more information on the nature of the deal.
Your Sincerely,
Prof. Jean Beunardeau
I received the same message from the same user. Definitely spam.
Too bad guys, I'm in France now having a great time with Dr Jean!
I can't update/change my email, updating it from account setting is not working.
It keeps sending verification email to the current email even when I provide a new one, after clicking the verify URL the email dos not change.
A POST request is sent on Update click, gets status 200 response with a JSON containing {"error":null}
update API: `https://hackaday.io/api/profile/update`
it changed, but it took few minutes, I think it should not be this long, in this time I managed to Update email and verify the old one 3 times because the new was not set yet.
There's a HTML generation bug for the global feed, and maybe My feed. In a comment on the global feed, the "more" link to see the whole comment is faulty. In this case it was "https: //hackaday.io/profile/184074#j-discussion-195960", which is missing a /. The correct link used by View all comments is "https: //hackaday.io/profile/184074/#j-discussion-195960", I've inserted a space in those URLs to prevent the website from parsing them as links.
I cant seem to report a "project", but https://hackaday.io/project/194205-trust-roc-relocation-your-stress-free is literally just an ad for a company and was featured on my "discover" page
In the LHS column of the project's page there's a link Report as inappropriate under the dates of project creation and last update. Click on that and report as spam.
It seems I can't reply back to a comment that is >3-4 levels deep?
https://hackaday.io/project/194177-realistic-roller-coaster/log/226229-motor-options
It seems I can't reply directly to zoxoxu's last reply? There are no options. I understand not wanting to nest that deeply, but I don't see another option...
I can't seem to upload a 50k jpg file for a project log.
May have just been an intermittent issue, not seeing any errors on my end. Try again or PM the file or one similar to me and I can check it out.
Mastodon requires to have rel="me" in the link back to Mastodon in order to show the link to the website as verified - GitLab already doing that, but Hackaday shows external links as
<a href="https://mastodon.social/@shaos" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">
can you please add me to the rel-list like rel="me nofollow noopener" ? Thanks !
I'll look into this, thanks for the recommendation.
Thanks

Is it possible to unlink my account from Twitter/X? Or to search this project discussion for anyone else asking the same question?
I can unlink twitter, are you able to login with email currently?
I cannot add any more photos to my writeup and I cannot align the photos in the editor in a way that sticks and is predictable. IMHO Microsoft Word is a better experience.
I know people with vision issues who prefer dark theme because it provides higher contrast than black on white. You of course can still hate it (I in fact am not a fan) but don’t blame it on contrast.
This dangerous project should be removed. He will set Halloween costumes on fire. https://hackaday.io/project/192959-programming-propane-espnow-and-walkway-upgrades
Does anyone else routinely reply to comments by: {type reply in text entry box below the comment; post reply; select-copy reply text; delete comment; click tiny gray-on-black "reply" link; paste copied reply; reply} ?

Hello,
I just need more details on why my project has been taken down. My project was called Evoslash.
Reasons being brought forward were:
- Sponsored content of any kind is NOT allowed and will be immediately removed
-> I don't have any sponsors
- Projects that prominently feature a third-party logo are not allowed
-> No third-party logo, all the logos are mine
- Off-topic projects will be removed
-> Don't think so
- Abusive, racist, and sexist conduct will not be tolerated.
-> Nope
Could I know specifically why my project has been taken down so that I can understand what I am supposed to do ?
Have a nice day,
Manu
