the feed times out regularly on a non 4G connection too.
I could not find any information anywhere about how I get my events or events related to the hackerspace entry that I administer listed on the events pages. Please shed some clarity on this.
Hi @Mark Dammer, please email meetups@hackaday.com. We will list it for you if you are running a World Create Day event
Hi Joseph! Please email prize@hackaday.com or you can send me project link in PM.
Thanks!
you have to enter your project officially into the Hackaday Prize for it to show up :)
You can do this from the dropdown menu below your project picture
Has anybody considered using cluster computer on the smaller SBC's to achieve computer stereo vision better then 12fps? just a thought, also if this has been attempted could somebody provide a link, i'd like to see even two or three raspberry pi modules linked in some way to decrease the process load enough to make this more practical.
are advertisements for rooms on stack deleted automagically or just without a warning or message? Just wondering :)
I was posting on stack the other day, that Im looking for a flatmate :D
I prefer to use facebook and embed here on hackaday I wish they would make it easier or have a trusted app for facebook for embedables
There doesn't seem to be a button to add new projects for me anymore. I was able to add a new page, but not a new project.
Is there a limit of 12 projects or something?
Is it some way of telling me to stop creating new projects and finish something? ;)
Or is something broken?
may be there is a one project a day rule now, because of spam protection?
If so, a capture for more projects would be a good idea. One - don't bother, more - "hey, are you a human and sure you wan't to do this, I mean we'll check it anyways cause you're flagged and we see when someone adds more than one a day... ?"
Header? All I see is the mini hackaday.io logo and the "menu" button.
Ah, it is in the menu, but it is above the line. I wasn't expecting it there. Navigation on this site is strange, it seems like it was meant to be a mobile site, but has other problems that make it not so good on phones...

Woot! I think I just saw 80-column code fit in a normal window! THANK YOU!

Please email prize@hackaday.com if you have not found it yet!
What....the.....actual.....fsck.....?!? Do you know that the stylesheet for hackaday.io is 29227 lines long and is 767K in size?
o_°
I wrote a CPU emulator and its development environment in less than that -_-
is it just me or are all modern web technologies inefficient wet hot garbage ?
Adam : you better use all that wasted bandwidth that is not filles by ASCII art :-P
It's full of indentation and comments, which can't help its size. It looks like it might be appropriate to split it into several files, e.g. move all the CSS for the chat into chat.css.
Oh well, good thing CSS is cacheable.
Cacheable is one thing. But the poor browser have to wade thru all that sht and act upon it as well.
Running it thru a minimizer and then a formatter (removing all comments and whitespace) reduced the css to 24509 lines at 639K...
No wonder this site runs like shite on my old atom based laptop even using Firefox. Even Facebook feels more snappy...
"old atom based laptop" I have one too :-D
Yes, HaD should run a series of articles about minification and compression...
Thanks for the feedback--compressed CSS will be in the next release!
and, oh, please, drop this ridiculous large ASCII art from all the served files. This serves no purpose and increases your bandwidth bills. I'm sure you'll love to shave 1% off your network costs.
Hahah you don't consider that money well spent!? How about this one instead: :D
I never thought I could be offended by ASCII art... Well done.
I have friends who lives in Africa. The weight of a page makes the difference between being left out of our community and participating :-/
Please, compress, shave, cache and minify your page so as many people can enjoy HaD :-)
We've fixed a bug in our CSS transpiling that affected our last release. Everything' s back to normal now.
if you transpile, you can also minify, right ? :-)
Can the black theme be changed somewhere in user preferences?
Sorry there is only one theme, what did you have in mind?
White background with black text. Monitor brightness is turned down to reduce eye strain. I can't see some of the links
The links in the "Now at Hackaday.io" sidebar at Hackaday.com issnt encoding the links correctly.
http : // www . hackaday . io / project/20552-CP/M 8266#j-discussion-80217 is not a proper URL with the slash in CP/M still there. (I added some spaces to not trigger it as a link in this post)
Had the weirdest chat experience yesterday on my cell phone (Samsung S6 Edge) - every last word or character was removed by the chat. I had to write sacrificial characters to complete my sentences :D
That damned HTML editor !
I want to write /some/path/somefile.name and the editor will create a hyperlink.
I edit in HTML mode, clean up, but after I hit "Publish", the link is back !

I am surprise that you have patience to use table. I would have done the table in Excel and post it as a picture. If only there is a way to strip off all of those extra implicit formatting. Like to use # from time to time without popup and hash tag by mistake.
Hi I cannot use site in puffin on tablet it keeps refreshing i cannot add bom or business plan or anything.... hackaday.io/openinvent
yep, i got confused too, should the link be fetched at all ? Is that a security risk ?
i can't link my hexapod in anything using the #. everytime i try, i get the same projects. its been happening for a week or so

When I told here that the website is too heavy...
https://hackaday.io/page/3059-aaaaaa-ah-fixed-it
so my african friend is not alone to complain and UK is not 3rd world. Yet.
I'm using a i7 to browse here, I suspect anything below i3 makes it hard to use the site. It's slow on my old Atom.
But really, honestly, sincerely : why is this simple, lean site so heavy that it can't be displayed on a Raspberry Pi ?
I know you can do much better.
