1Solder 2 pieces of wire about 5-10cm, each with a small spring on one end and a small strip of copper on the other.
See project photo for reference
-
2Wrap the strip of copper on the fake battery and glue it on the backside so the NDS's contacts can touch them when the battery is inserted.
See project photo for reference
-
3Insert the fake battery and leave the wires passing through its central hole. Secure the wires onto the fake battery with glue gun or your adhesive of choice.

4Remove the securing screw from the original lid and transfer it over to the new lid.
Remove the securing screw by removing the small retaining ring on the inside of the lid. It's very tiny so don't lose it. Install it on the new lid.
-
5Insert the 18650 cell into the battery cylinder with the spring contacts, in the correct orientation. Note that the + terminal is closer to the back of the NDS (where the trigger button is) so ensure this terminal is connected to the + of the battery.
Warning: Double, Triple, Quadruple check this connection before making it! Do not wire backwards as you risk frying your NDS Lite.
-
6Squish the excess wire into the battery bay and install the small battery lid (cylbotlid.stl).
-
7Mate the battery bay to the protruding fake battery and insert the M2 screws to secure.
Make sure the M2 screws are not too long, and if you meet resistance be careful not to puncture the 18650 battery or you will end up with a flaming mess.
