Very simple! Drilled a hole in the interface, inserted a flex sensor and used a micro controller to convert the flex sensor readings to MIDI. Listen to samples from the Electronics Round Robin / Dark Circuits performance at Culture Hub, NYC on the soundcloud link below. It was developed for performances by MY WIFE. See link below.
