Modulo consists of a base that holds and connects small modular devices. Devices slide into the base, rather than stacking like shields. That makes it possible to use multiple devices with things like displays, knobs, and buttons without them interfering with each other. The whole assembly feels solid and sturdy in your hand.
I'm also working on a software layer that makes this all a breeze to use, including an Arduino API for reprogramming the controller and a Python API for controlling devices from a Mac, Windows, or Linux Computer.
