It is not difficult to hand solder the SMD of size 0805. How about size 0603, 0402 or 0201? This badge gives you all of them. This badge is a binary counter. It has a 555 timer and a CD4020. Here is the tindie link, https://www.tindie.com/products/nwmaker/smd-0201-soldering-challenge/
