11Step 11
Problem: Tying the tracks to the main frame and having them pivot.
Uneven ground will cause the mover to move jerky if the tracks are not independent. My design will allow for a difference of + - 1.5 feet between tracks. This is of course theoretical and I will only know when the unit moves along rough rocky ground, or over an obstacle. Here is my first suspension design. Plastic slides will be installed in the final assembly.
The pivot will be located just above the centre boggy. Most of the weight will be carried just behind the spring and shock assembly. Forward direction is to the left of the picture. The track turns smoothly and the alignment is good.
