Well, trying to program Kagaku's wheels have been angering and interesting to say the least... I can get very, very minimal control of mobility (meaning he might speed up when I push it forward), and as such he only seems to be able to jitter forward, occasionally stop, speed towards the wall in front of him, then jitter some more. I guess I should just take it in stride; any major invention of this caliber worth creating is going to have issues all throughout the creation process.

Anyway, after a frustrating day of trying to program the servos with the joystick, it looks like I'm going to have to order one specifically for the Arduino, and as such, mobility will probably not be shown in the video except maybe a few code modifications to show that they do work. The servos are wired and functional, and wiring the Raspberry Pi is a simple matter of putting everything together, so I should be okay as long as nothing else decides to break. I hope the judges understand my setbacks throughout the development of this...

Also, he's going to look a bit scruffy, but if the teachers in the technology department are willing to help me out, he'll look a lot cleaner by the next checkpoint, as then I'll have access to a laser cutter, plexiglass and other tools/materials and not be stuck with electrical tape and cardboard.

As for the next checkpoint, once I get the joystick I am certain the mobility issues will be resolved, and I can now focus on software. During the time in between tomorrow and judging, I'll be focusing on brushing up on my Python skills.

Before I go, a quick picture of the servos after last night's wheel attachments:
