Our hack is a generic Drone platform capable of Surveillance and Air Quality Monitoring and flies using an autonomous way point navigation system.
It carries a multispectral camera that streams live video which superimposes mission critical flight parameters like attitude, speed, altitude, etc.
We used low cost off the shelf parts like Arduino boards, sensors and XBee modules to build this.
In the next versions we'd add Geiger Counters for radiation monitoring, particulate matter measurement, etc along with a ballistic parachute module that can make the device land safely in case of a free fall or collision.
