RoGeorge Cell

A new type of Four-Quadrant Multiplier, with an analog input signal and a digitally controlled multiplication factor

Similar projects worth following
This is a circuit that takes an analog input signal, then multiply it by a digital factor. The output of the circuit is an analog signal too. The multiplication factor is digitally controlled by a micro-controller, and it works in all four quadrants.

Even thought a micro-controller is involved, the signal path is pure analog from input to output.

Having a digitally controlled multiplication allows to implement complex algorithms and a level of automation that can not be achieved with a classical analog multiplier.

Combining the analog signal path with the digitally multiplication factor, this circuit is trying to harvest the best from the both worlds of analog and digital.

I am in a hurry right now, so I will just drop some pictures, and will come later with details.
