Hi, I have been reworking the design and plan to utilize the newer BQ40Z80. I am also trying to fit in an optional BQ25710 (or 13 or 08) to provide boost when connected to legacy USB power sources. At the moment I am fighting TI's shop as they don't want to sell me the EVM for the BQ25710 or provide samples. I guess they no longer provide service to small engineering companies.

It looks like you could buy the BQ25710EVM from Mouser for $5 more than from the TI shop.

Yeah, I'll probably get it from Verical on sale now for a little less than the TI price. Arrow or their Verical group is usually the cheapest. Arrow can also give you devkits sometimes if the EAU is decent. I am not sure about this board's popularity yet and I don't mind buying it. It is just really weird TI cancelled the samples (first time out of dozens of SMPS and FET samples, but OK they are at their discretion) and the EVM (what?). They gave me a shop coupon, what else am I supposed to use that on? I guess the TI shop policies have recently changed or something. It is a bit odd and not too professional.
