Since my workshop was accepted, I started preparing for it. First of all, I went and ordered all the required parts from Aliexpress, since you can never tell how long it will take them to reach here. I split the order into many small packages, so even if some of them don't arrive on time, I will be able to replace them with the parts from my personal stock.
Second, since I needed to order the printed circuit boards, I decided to redesign them a little bit, both to include the Jolly Wrencher logo, and to include some of the improvements that I came up with since the last iteration. More on that later.
Once the boards and parts are here, I will need to build and test one prototype, and then pre-assemble all the boards. I think that at the least I will have to do all the soldering -- because I really don't think I will be able to teach people to solder during the workshop, and I don't want injuries.
While building the prototype, I will make the photographs illustrating all the steps, and upload them here as the instructions. Then I will have them printed for the workshops.
Finally, there will be some changes in the software. I already did some preliminary experiments, and I think that I can make the whole thing much easier to experiment with.

is it possible to get a kit without taking part in the workshop? I really want a jolly wrenched crawler (who would have known :D) but I'd also want to just run around and talk to people and might take pictures.

The workshop is for 10 participants, and that's how many kits I'm preparing. The DirtyPCBs will also send 10 boards (+-2, so I'm risking a little bit here, in the worst case, I will order another proto pack with express shipping). So I don't have any spares. Actually, I didn't even order any spares for any of the parts, so if they get broken, I will replace them with parts from my own stock.
You can order the boards from DirtyPCBs or wherever else (the designs will be published shortly). I suppose that if there are more people wanting this, we could coordinate and make an order for all of us.

kk, makes sense. I was about to throw money at my screen ;) I'm not sure if I would feel happy about 9 boards laying around and collecting dust, but maybe I could get them in time and bring them with me to Belgrade for swapping or beer money for the two of us :D

If I get more than 10 (either initially, or because I get 9 and have to re-order), you can have the prototype.
