Please see files attached in project. Since I found 2 different ways to set this up I figured it would be easier for folks to just check the files rather than type up the two different ways in this section.
I did try the adafruit guide when I initally started, but couldnt get it to work right. I could have fat fingered a line of code, but still researching. On a plus, I did find another way to set up the PI3 for wifi access..lol
This is very awesome project! I so appreciate it that I could do good project. By the way, I don't know how to reset raspberry pi. I want to turn back RPI aboriginally. Anyone can help?
Great project for a RPi that I’ve been wanting to accomplish. Does having a RPi as a wireless access point limit the speed in anyway? The only reason I’ve not started this project is I’m concerned a RPi would slow down my FiOS fiber optic Internet, which is currently 75 down/75 up. If you know the answer, I’d be grateful to know it! Thanks and keep those projects coming!
Hate to say I'm not sure. I haven't really tried to push it but it seems to load pages normally, I haven't tried to check out anything streaming like youtube. But these are the specs, 2.4GHz 802.11n wireless. But I'm not quite sure what your going to attempt to use. I'm guessing your going to hard line in with a media converter, which you might want to look up. I've had a lot of experience with them and know if they can't be configured by dip-switches you might not get what your looking for. But also while jumping from fiber to other mediums your probably going to loose your speed regardless. So while I'm not too sure, I would expect some type of loss. I do have a project in mind where I jump my signal via Pi 3 wifi to another Pi 3 wifi and see what type of connection I can keep. I only have a slightly upgraded cable line, so think I can do it but interested to see what it can do as well.
sorry sajal, project is complete.
