If you are also constructing the portable satellite dish you will need to swap out the LNB that comes with the dish to a Linear LNB. They can be sourced easily on eBay or Amazon. Install the LNB in the same position as the original. The distance from the face of the LNB to the dish itself must remain the exact same to retain the correct focus.This can be done with a simple measuring tape.

At the end you should have a completely portable system ready to receive KU band downlinks anywhere in the world.

UPDATE: The system is now transitioned to an L band InMarSat downlink and the KU dish is no longer necessary. As soon as the new system arrives I will update the project accordingly. This L band system will remove the largest transport case completely and all systems will now fit in the overhead luggage bins on an airplane. Very cool!
