Make a winding jiggs
If you want to understand and/or adapt the helix winder, check my Helix Winder tutorial.
The version I present here is easier to make and a bit less precise. It will wind two helices at a time and the error will be the same on both helices so you won't notice them.
Take 3 pieces of wood about 24x120x8mm (size and shape not really important)
Take 2 pieces of wood, about 24x24x8mm (size is not important, but you want two parallel sides)
Mark the center of two of the large wood pieces, and mark two points at 4.7mm from the central mark (4.7 is inner radius of the helix + radius of the copper wire, 4 + 0.7 if you follow my dimensions). You print a pattern, but be sure to mark the the position with a sharp nail so the drilling j
Drill 1.5mm (1.4mm if you can) holes on the two exterior marks at 90° on piece of wood, and at 45° on the other.
Drill a 8mm hole in the center of the three pieces of wood.
Glue the piece with 45° holes, the piece with only the 8mm hole, and the two small pieces, like this:

Prepare the wire
Cut two 200mm pieces of 1.5mm² copper wire. Strip them, make them straight then bent them at 45° at about 40mm from one end.
