2016 Updates Beginning Now
05/12/2016 at 02:34 • 0 commentsIt has a been a little while since I have been active in the maker stuff because I had to move and lots of life happening. However, We are back and hitting the ground running. I am going to start adding to this project for a bit. I am currently assembling a 3D printed centrifuge. The novel features of this particular centrifuge are modularity, ease of construction and using off the shelf and recycled components. One of the key components for recycling are the battery and we will get more in detail of that later. The basics are that we are using DJI smart batteries that are no longer safe for flying a drone and re-purposing them to medical and lab equipment that can be built anywhere in the world. These batteries have lots of life left in them for low amperage usage such as monitors, computers etc.

Update: Most sensors readily available
08/18/2014 at 12:52 • 0 commentsIt has been a while since I have posted to this project but there have been several exciting developments along these lines since the first of the year. There are several kickstarters for different spectrometers. However, we are getting ready to use Colormetrix smartphone app to work with standard testing strips and viles and a program for the smartphone. This should make for a simple way to do blood, urine and saliva lab tests. We have also stumbled across the e-Health sensor that will take care of most everything else on the above list of testing parameters that we set out to accomplish. I will update soon as we begin to work with these items and see how they integrate. We may need to do some software updates and integration. We will definitely be building databases in the server to record information. Thank you for following and hopefully we will have some results to post before too much longer.

Spectrometer Build Logs 1.0
06/04/2014 at 17:38 • 0 commentsI will be populating the build log as soon as I resize some pictures. I am working on the second and third iteration but I will go in steps because there are lots of uses for the level of accuracy of 1.0. I need to adjust for better focal accuracy in my portable/garage prototype and in the new desktop prototype.
