Arduino based light painting box wand (although it looks more like an unfinished Sci-Fi prop...)
The idea was to give a bit more freedom with the motion of the light bar, and delay between columns. As with all my projects most of the parts for this are recycled, which is why it looks like a 60s sci-fi prop. Hopefully if this works ok, i'll move it to a r-pi with full PWM RGB LEDs to give a greater range of colours.

And we're off again.... hopefully all the soldering is done now.
Sadly no photos yet, but i've got everything wired up, and enough coding done to make it fully operational (although i could do with adding a mode to vertically flip the image...).
Interesting side note:
I'm currently testing it with a 24 x 1024 repeating version of this image...
when running the light wand at the right speed, and waving it back and forth like a nutter (only current way of testing the image) you get an animated fire effect. Could be the start of a new sub project....
After finally finishing the soldering, I borrowed an Arduino Uno from another project, and wrote a quick test program. Amazingly all the LEDs lit as they should (if you could see the mess of wires inside you'd be impressed!).
Due to the lack of a camera with long exposure setting, i had to photoshop together a couple of images, but it gives you a good idea of what it'll look like.
