Taylor Group/Globacore designed a VR experience for CES and hired me to build two wristbands using their client's (OSRAM) optoelectronics. One was an LED tracking wristband to that coordinated the user's physical location with the virtual environment. For this I simply redesigned the enclosure of an existing tracking system. The second wristband was a wireless heart rate monitor built using "MikroElectronika's Heart Rate 3 Click" board and an ESP8266. The wrist straps were 3d printed in ninjaflex, and the enclosures printed in PLA.
