The batteries were long since dead and discarded but the joule thief can steal many more electrons before they run out. Push the button to start the theft.

If I'm on the same wavelength .. the most subtle and best electronics joke I've seen this year;-) Are all those wires in-circuit, or did you resort to some just being structural?

Thank you that means a lot! :) The only wire not carrying current is the one holding the front facing battery. All the others (including the thief himself) are overly complicated but very much needed wires for the circuit :)
