The original Thor project Art1Body was a a 3D print that would need to be printed 19H or more.
I originally tried to print it into different segments and then gluing it together but I ended up with a model that tore of parts a because of too thin walls.; And worse the stepper-motors were impossible to fit.
The remodeled version from DannyVdh consists of 3 parts.
Finally assembles (screws have yet to be inserted)
What I like about the Thor design is that they keep a low center of gravity. The 4 heaviest motor parts are in the lower section close to the rotation center.
There are 3 smaller motors upwards, but are less heavy.
I have noticed that there is not a lot of space left for wiring. We still need wiring to go up all the way.

Hello Danny,
the motors fit in your version. The original Thor they were stuck. That is why I printed your version.
The roof I had to print upside down and add a lot of additional support structures. Had to try several times. Maybe it is the ABS (ICE Wondrous white) I use that may warp too much upwards.
I have glue and cutting tools. :-) I will make it fit :-)
Just a question. The top part appears to have something to insert a screw. But the middle part has no hole in it to screw something in.

Correct, I used 2 parker screws with a pointed nose. there was not enough room to work with bold and nut.
For the roof, I had the same issue, look at my solution to solve it. :-)

Hi Olaf,
I see you've run into some problems, the roof has been disformed somehow, I am printing the new piece and for now it seens not be a probleem, I now that the motors will fit very near, it's the original design, I didn't change it for the moment, If you wish I will examine if it can be a little thicker inside of the room. There is not that much room inside for the wiring but on the left side it will be enough. I see the motors are inside, you tell that the don't fit? It's normal that they are at the end at the base wall.
In about one hour I finished printing the lower parts, at night the roof will be printed, I hope it will not do the same thing that I see at yours side. Sorry for that, what I can do is fill in the roof with more materials, maybe that will be a solution for the disformation.
