This is a demonstration of how to integrate the SUMP2 Logic Analyzer into an existing FPGA design on a TinyFPGA BX to allow direct capture of internal signals.

Integrated logic analyzers are a great way to debug FPGA designs because they can be integrated seamlessly and capture signals in full fidelity without having to worry about available I/O pins or high-speed signals traveling over noise-prone wires.

Components

1 × TinyFPGA BX
1 × Arduino (3.3V)
1 × USB-Serial cable (3.3V)

Structure

The code for this demo is all in https://github.com/dreiss/tiny_sump2_demo . Feel free to just check it out and skip ahead to the "hardware setup" step. The following steps will walk through the process of setting up the demo, so you can apply them to your own project.

Empty project

Device under test
