Objective:
This project aims to address the need for portable charging in environments where no electricity from the power grid is available or even when solar portable charging is not applicable in an instance when a user is in a dense forest or in a cave. The device is intended primarily to travelers and explorers.
Testing:
The prototype was tested and it generated an average voltage of 20V for one stator only as some magnets were damaged during assembly. The prototype has two stators and one was not working since I was unable to procure the same magnets due to unavailable supply.
Though for now the development of this project seems to be slow due to my full time job and scarcity of my financial resources, I will continue this project. I'm also thinking of a design that will leverage the body weight for easier cranking of the rotor.
As for the extensibility of this project, the use of a torsion spring and a combination of gears, the concept could potentially address the problem of wind turbines facing low speed winds and hydroelectric at low volume of water.
