Before you think about building LCLC, I suggest you to look around these options as well. 

• Ortur LaserMaster 2 - 15 W diode @ 200
• Universal Engraver - 3000 mW diode @ $300
• SmartDIYs Desktop Laser Cutter

Frankly these are cheaper and easier to build than LCLC.  However, they all lack an external enclosure and use a limited mainboard (laser functionality only).

It comes down to the convenience of buying a kit vs. the experience given by building one yourself. No wrong answers here.
