I wanted to learn Morse Code, but I am terrified of going out there and just sending a CW CQ and hoping. So I made a keyboard.
The hardest part, for me, was defining new code that was pleasant to use and functional for all of the modifier keys. I have here, attached, a cheat sheet that includes the new codes for the expanded symbol set and the modifier keys. I use a light on the wooden box for each Shift, Ctrl, Alt, and GUI so I can know when I have one activated and not accidentally send a ctrl+a. The mod keys work by keying once for down, and a second time for up. The difference is shift, Shift both presses the shift key, and changes the ascii base for decoding. (More on that with the code).
