Tambourine Clamp

A clamp for mounting a tambourine to a drum kit

Similar projects worth following

I wanted a clamp for my tambourine, so I could mount it on a drum kit. The handle unscrews and allows for mounting using M4 bolts.

  • It is strong enough

So far this tambourine clamp has survived 3 different drummers this weekend. I'd say that is a success!

I printed the clamp out of black PETG. This looks a lot nicer than my initial blue PLA prototype. It should also be a fair bit stronger. I placed a black norprene tube around the rim of the tambourine to dampen the impact of the drumsticks a bit.

The norprene tubing is 10mm outer diameter, 1.7 mm wall thickness.

If your tambourine has different hole positions you can either modify the STL or the tambourine by drilling new holes.

TIP: Print with the square hole down for maximum strength.

Looks like it was meant to be there from the start. Nice job. I was going to question whether it would hold up to the hits, but I've printed jigs and tools that took quite a beating, so this should do fine.

Thanks! This weekend it will be tested by me and another drummer. We'll see who manages to break it.

Edit: so far nobody managed to break it.
