Testing button extension rods
08/16/2020 at 17:14 • 0 commentsusing dowl rods we extend the connection from the larger buttons about 3 times the size of the original down to the RGB remote control. I recommend using a drill bit to Ream out the shafts to the size that allows your dowl rods to slide without resistance. I cut a couple of mine a little too short here so I will run by the store and pickup another down to get the last couple pieces cut. The buttons can push fit into the dowl ends and when you are ready you can use screws or glue to affix them. I recommend painting before glueing them on. I needed to test functionality at this point so that UCPLA could start printing on their end.

Test print after fixing the model
08/02/2020 at 04:10 • 0 commentsBefore UCPLA starts printing I wanted to verify that the model is good after slight changes. This model just came off the printer yesterday and testing some fitment seems to be good so far. I still need to install the electronics, paint it and assemble to completely verify it and have a sort of assembly guide for the first UCPLA prototype.

UCPLA vacuum table is built
07/19/2020 at 22:24 • 0 commentsan essential part of my two UCPLA projects is the ability to vacuum form frames ,covers and any other parts for the foreseeable future for low cost and custom fit masks for everyone at their facilities. I plan to provide one vacuum table to use in their adaptive creation shop.
a vacuum table is useful for many other kinds of projects as well so I hope they find this useful. They will only need to insert a vacuum hose from a shop vac or large vacuum cleaner to evacuate the air from the vacuum table surface. -
Whoops, Houston we have a problem
07/16/2020 at 19:59 • 0 commentsI went to setup prints for the Blob adaptive controller and I realized a while row of buttons does not have the holes in the buttons for screws or the correct shafts for the push rods. So I need to fix this part before I can go forward. I am already printing sizing guides today and tomorrow , so it is not that big of a deal.
