The old wire extension is outdated. The new version has bigger bearings, better tensioning, an adjustable wire guide and is super easy to wire.

The first tests with the wire extension worked very well and gave me some ideas to improve the process.

The new wEDM extension will be easier to wire, more accessible and will have an adjustable wire guide and internal waterflow.

The ESP breakout board had some changes too. The software controlled Microstep feature is not used anymore and those pins are free for other stuff now. Also the one unused Inputpin is now exposed. All in all there are now two IO pins and one input only pin more available.

Days have passed. Parts where printing and the HGR15 rail came today.

The new toolhead is a major improvement compared to the old one that used a weak MGN12 rail. Pretty solid.

Instead of a cheap DIY drillchuck it now uses an ER11 C12 shaft with dual bearings. One bearing in the top lid and one in the main body.

The belt tensioner is just another nice improvement.

Still not fully finished but it's starting to get somewhere.
