130x30mm FlatChannel system testing
08/02/2024 at 15:08 • 1 commentWhile working on some other segments for the known diamaters I'm also working on a new standard that is especially made for small areas (e.g. cupboards, etc.).
The example below is a filter system that I want to install in my 3D printer chamber. The Idea is that air from the top is sucked in, through the new HEPA filter segment and then release in the chamber again. This way I try to collect and filter the exhaust air of my 3D printer while staying as compact as possible.
What do you think about it? :)

(Finally) Fan segments
07/24/2024 at 17:14 • 0 commentsI finally released the CAD files for the FAN segment I was working on for a long time. I prepared two segments. One can hold a standard 120mm axial fan (the one of a kind that probably sits in your PC housing next to you). The other one can hold a 120mm radial Fan. This can be helpful if you need not only airflow but also some more pressure. (For example if you plan to use some filter system in your PrintAirPipe System. :))
The Cad files are available here:
- Axial Fan Segment: https://nerdiy.de/en/product-2/printairpipe-120mm-axial-luefter-segment-3d-druckbar-stl-dateien/
- Radial Fan Segment: https://nerdiy.de/en/product-2/printairpipe-120mm-radial-luefter-segment-3d-druckbar-stl-dateien/
Enough words, here are pictures and videos. :)
PCB used in both segments to control the Fan and read RPM data:
At this point I want to send a huge Thank You to the guys of PCBWay.com again. They supported me at the design of the Fan driver PCB. :)

BambuLab X1 air exhaust adapter
06/13/2024 at 20:36 • 0 commentsWith the PrintAirPipe - BambuLab X1 connection set you can collect the exhaust air from your BambuLab X1 3D printer and forward it using the PrintAirPipe system. This means that the exhaust air from the 3D printer can, for example, be directed outside or further filtered before being fed into the ambient air.
This set currently contains two adapters that direct the exhaust air outlet to the 50mm PrintAirPipe system or the 80mm PintAirPipe system.
The STL files are available at https://nerdiy.de/de_de/produkt/printairpipe-bambulab-x1-anschluss-set-3d-druckbar-stl-dateien/

50mm pipe segment set
06/13/2024 at 17:28 • 0 commentsI realized that in some cases the 125mm diamater of the pipe system is quite big. Therefore I designed a much smaller version of the different pipe segments.
The PrintAirPipe - 50mm pipe segment set is the smallest brother of the (original) PrintAirPipe 125 system. The segments and functionality are identical or similar, so that the PrintAirPipe 50mm system can also be used to create an individually adaptable pipe system with an outer diameter of 50mm.
The different segments can be combined as desired and connected to the other pipe diameters using existing adapters.
The full set for the 50mm diameter is available here: https://nerdiy.de/en/product-2/printairpipe-50mm-rohr-segmente-set-3d-druckbar-stl-dateien/

360° intake segment
06/11/2024 at 19:35 • 0 commentsWith the PrintAirPipe - 360° Intake Segment, it is possible to direct the air inside the PrintAirPipe pipe system to the outside or to draw air from the outside into the inside of the pipe system.
The ventilation openings in the segment can be closed or opened either manually using a small lever or automatically.
The firmware of the control electronics is based on ESPHome and can therefore be integrated into many SmartHome systems such as HomeAssistant.
The STL files are available at: https://nerdiy.de/en/product-2/printairpipe-360-intake-segment-3d-printable-stl-files/

AirFlowSensor segment - Measure air speed in the pipe system
05/14/2024 at 19:29 • 0 commentsIt could be useful to measure the air speed in the #PrintAirPipe system. That's why I designed the AirFlowSensor segment to do just that. You can find more information about this and the PrintAirPipe system at nerdiy.de/papp

PrintAirPipe - Servo Valve
04/21/2024 at 17:05 • 0 commentsThe servo valve segment of the #PrintAirPipe system can be used as a controllable valve.
The valve blade is controlled by an MG90 servo. Thanks to the built-in ESP32, the servo can be controlled via WiFi or the touch sensor on the housing.
The LED shows the states open (green) and closed (red). The firmware is based on #ESPhome and the files are available on my blog nerdiy.de
