Just in case you didn't notice the difference, the LM3915 has logarithmic steps - ideal for a VU meter display, but not as good for drawing accurate waveforms. It would make a cool RGB music display :-)

Thanks for pointing that out! - I was aware of that, but could have mention it somewhere :)
I also bought 5 LM3914 to switch out, but I thought that the max speed overall would be pretty good/best for audio stuff and I plan to play around with some RC filters - basically keeping some options :)

Glad you bought so many 3914's, 'cause it just occurred to me two (or four?) of those could be used to make an X/Y 'scope, with three Lissajous patterns :)
