February 23 – 26
Part of this week’s research on metal casting was unsuccessful despite the long hours put in, so I decided to switch gears and give the CAD files some love. I fixed a few issues with mirrored parts in addition to committing more build photographs and Inventor screenshots to GitHub.
There was a task open to create build instructions for some time, so I brushed up on doing the exploded diagrams in Inventor and started a new document in InDesign, for eventual export to PDF. This will be done today or tomorrow.
The Exoskeleton.asm screenshot below is now featured in README.md on GitHub:Here's also a cut video of building one layer on the investment casting shell. This is a "scrap" shell to see if wax can be melted out at a lower temperature with no mess, but still takes about a week to build due to having to wait a day for each layer to dry:
