I ordered them at a local metal-working shop which does laser-cutting up to 25mm steel. Can't do it yourself unless you've got a laser-cutter in the kW-range...
right, thanks for the info, i didn't know if maybe you had one at work that you used, or if you used a service... i usually use Ponoko.com for my laser parts, but they don't do any heavy steel...
@Dave's Dev Lab: Yeah, this material is quickest and cheapest for me to get (32€, ca. 34$). I'd pay roughly the same for an SLA print from china @ 0.95$ per gram. I already requested prices for laser-cutted wood...

Nope, just the cheapest material I can get from our suppliers. It's just for test purposes anyway......
