Feedback
05/20/2025 at 15:29 • 0 commentsToday, we presented our project to our teachers. As feedback, they told us some ways we could have processed the making of our project a better way.
In conclusion, we could have used less material for the base and removed some parts of it. This way, it would have created some holders on two sides for Youssra to be able to remove the base easier from the bowl as it can be complicated for her to do it.
They also told us that we could have made more prototypes even if we didn’t have the object. Indeed, we can always try to do prototypes even if we are missing some parts, objects or pieces. We can create pieces we are missing to help us move forward. Some things don’t need measurements, and we could have worked on those for the time we didn’t have the egg breaker, like design. We just must work with the information we have.
And we had a very good question about how easy it would be to wash the base. So, we answered that it normally shouldn’t touch it but if it happens it will be easy to remove it because you first take off the egg breaker and then you clean the base how you normally clean a bowl or a plate.
In the end, they told us it was great that we kept moral and that we didn’t complain even with all the obstacles we encountered.

Eighth day
05/15/2025 at 09:15 • 0 commentsToday, we were able to talk with Youssra about our project. She brought the egg breaker and it was way easier to work with the object itself.
We explained to her what we wanted to do but she thought it could be very unstable. That is why she helped us to think of something that could be more stable. We came up with the idea of making a socle that looks like a bowl and on which we could put the egg breaker withtout it moving. We would have to make a rectangle at the borders of the bowl to put the wings of the egg breaker on it. But it is also necessary to create a small platform to maintain the front of the egg breaker stable.
Our teacher told us that to add more stability to our bowl, it would be better to make the bottom of it larger than the top.
We re-disigned our project a totaly new different way and we made a first prototype out of cardoard. It ended up working well but there were still some problems of stability. We added small plastic nails on the platform in the front to keep the egg breaker stable. In the end, it worked very properly.
We still have to make a better cardboard prototype and a 3D example for our presentation.

Seventh day
04/22/2025 at 15:53 • 0 commentsToday we made bigger and more detailed sketches for our project! We made isometric ones. This way, it was easier to show our teachers our prototype and for them to give us feedback.
We added more maintenance on the socle and we decided to change something on the handles. Vladimir explained to us that by making them longer, it will necessite less strength from Youssra to use them. So we decided to take this in consideration and propose to Youssra all of our options the next time we see her.

Sixth Day
04/08/2025 at 14:11 • 0 commentsToday, we thought of an improvement for our project, something that would help to hold the egg breaker if it's not possible to screw it. It is just a holder for a part of the egg breaker to be maintained. There is a hole in the middle to be able to place this part on the holder, and little spaces on both sides to put the borders on it. This way, we believe it will hold the egg breaker correctly.
We made a prototype that we uploaded in the files.

Fifth day
04/01/2025 at 16:32 • 0 commentsToday we made our first prototype in cartons so that next weeks Youssera can test it and tell us her opinion and advices about it.

the fourth day
04/01/2025 at 16:18 • 0 commentsOn the fourth day, we didn't recieve any answer from Youssera and because we didn't have the egg breaker whit us we weren't able to do the measurements and start creating our projet. So during this session we thought about the materials we could use. We thought we could use the 3D printer to make our base but we are not sure it will be strong enough to hold the egg breaker so we have to make tests.

Third day
04/01/2025 at 16:12 • 0 commentsOn our third day, we visited the Fab lab and got to learn about all the machines there. We also contacted Youssera to send us a photo of her egg breaker so that we can have the measure and print in 3D the base that we did on fusion 360. So that for the next session she can test it and tell us her opinion about this new prototype.

Second day
04/01/2025 at 16:08 • 0 commentsOn our second day, we tried to do the base of the egg breaker with the software fusion 360.

first day
04/01/2025 at 15:56 • 0 commentsOn the first day, we tried to find what improvements we could bring to the egg breaker. We first tried to see what the problems were and we thought the object was pretty unstable and that the two wings were hard to hold for someone who hasn't enough strength in their hands. That's why we came up with the idea to add a base to hold the egg breaker and some holders on the wings that will help people using it to push the wings.
So we made sketches to realise what our project would look like.
We made a first sketch with holders on the base linked to arms which were made to push the wings.
But we thought it wasn't the most practicle way to do it.
That is why we kept the base and the principle of the holders but we added the holders directly to the wings.
That way it will be easier for people to push the wings.
