Fizzit is targeted at projects that require multiple CPU modules. It supports flexible interprocessor communication including an onboard USB hub, SPI, UART and TWI. In addition an onboard FPGA provides any-to-any cross connect of module digital IO pins.

To support multi-module development, fizzit adds USB and SWD pins to the Feather footprint. This means the baseboard can provide joint debug and USB connectivity simplifying fizzit specific modules.

 fizzit features:

  • builtin multi-debug capability with 5 cmsis-dap equivalent connections
  • configurable gpio module interconnects with builtin fpga programmer
  • plugable board-to-wire connectors with 32-core total capacity
  • RPi Zero form-factor linux SBC connects via USB hub to up to 4 modules for interprocessor communications

fizzit uses an ICE40UP5K FPGA to provide configurable baseboard wiring. Because the required design is relatively simple it is possible to do this visually with circuirverse e.g.

Circuitverse generates VDHL which is an input to chip (under development) which uses yosys to generate the ICE40 bitstream and loads this into the fizzit's FPGA flash via the fizzit debug USB interface.
