24V "250W" Geared DC Motor
High Torque.

24V 20A DC-DC Variable Buck Converter
Ideally should be as "dumb" as possible (i.e. no auto shutdown, current limits, etc).

Throttle Controller
A potentiometer or servo controller (depending on motor driver requirements).

Bicycle Chain
To link the DC motor to the read wheel spoke hub.

Racheted Wheel Spoke
Allows freewheeling in the reverse direction (i.e. motor disengage).

A Bicycle Given by the Neighbour
Preferably one that has the spoke threads missing so you can't connect the motor and waste a lot of time aimlessly.

DC Power Meter HUD
With voltage, current, power and amp-hours.

High Power DC Switch (10A)
As this is for safety only (i.e. please don't run away Mr. bicycle), it doesn't need to interrupt the actual load current normally (i.e. 10-30A).

Fuse (30A)
For use with Lipo batteries.

LiPo Cell Voltage Monitor/Beeper
LiPos are scary.

Low Voltage Detector/Beeper
Place just in front of the DC-DC converter to know when the cable wiring is too thin for the load (or the effective battery voltage has dropped too low). This is important as the DC-DC converter chosen limits power once the voltage drops to 20V at the point of connection.

Lots of Velcro for LiPo Mounting
Because if you drop it you'll be gripped by paranoia each time its charging (life extending paranoia).
