Human Assistant Robot

A robot that can control and be controlled for any kind of activities.

Similar projects worth following
This is HAR, Human Assistant Robot. HAR was created and designed for human to be able to do any kind of activities. Started from the simplest one, such as turning the goods of home electronics on, for the examples are fans, televisions, lights, and washing machines. Particularly, HAR is also able to help the people with disabilities to do their own daily activities for certainly. In another field, HAR has a good function to be able to help the geologist to conduct the survey in terms of the research of dangerous place. Another good thing has been found when using HAR as the Human Assistant Robot, those are; it could being the important equipment for being used by the SAR officers to search and rescue the victim of the earthquake that probably happened in a certain areas, also it could be controlled easily by giving the instruction through voice command and visual user interface found in a personal device's web browser such as mobile phone or even a computer.

"If you survive until tomorrow, it could mean that you are more likely to be immortal or you are closer to death" - Nassim Taleb.

I choose to make people immortal, by save their life in my perspective.

We all know, we have a lot of troubles in this world, like a dissaster, sickness, or everything else.

I never check the winner of Hackaday Prize until today, and when i checked the 2015 winner (if im not wrong), its Dtto, a modular robot who can save someone's life from a dissaster. It was cool.

And looks like it has a same function with my robot. So i will make the difference. Lets go deeper now.

Problem

In my country, Indonesia, there are a lot of dissaster in every year. Extreme flood, earthquake, etc. And the government have their limit to handle it. It's hard to find a victim when the earthquake comes. SAR (Search And Rescue) officer should trying so hard to find them, sometimes they need six hours to find at least one victim.

Thats the first problem.

Indonesia is a tropical country who has more than 30 volcanos, thousand islands, hundreds cave, and many hystorical buildings. There are a lot of geologist or a scientist interested to do some research here. And sometimes they have a problem, the problem is they can't go into a small cave to do their research because its too dangerous. And i will not gonna let it stop them to get more information there. Thats the second problem.

My uncle have a sickness, and he can't do anything except sleeping on his bed and call his wife to do something for him like to turn on the fan, or even for turning off the TV. I want to help him, so much.

Thats third. And three is more than enough.

So i decided to make a robot that can solve all of the problem. A single robot, who can control, and can be controlled (IOT) to help us in every needs.

So i gave it a name, it is HAR, or Human Assistant Robot. Powered by Raspberry Pi, HAR can do a lot of things for us.

I put voice computing platform to solve my uncle's problem, so he just need to say the magic word such as "turn on the tv please" and the tv will be turning on. Beside of that, HAR can tell him a joke, tell him the time, till the wheater.

What about two others?

I should make HAR move! Yeah!

I gave HAR a tank chassis, a gripper, two gripper. The main gripper is the biggest one, is a static gripper, it can handle till 11kg of weight. And the second gripper, it's dinamic, so it can move to the right and left side, up and down, as we want it to move. So we can use HAR's arm to move something that we want.

How we can controll it?

I gave HAR an IOT framework. And start to create the simple script using python and html.

And it works.

So now, HAR can control the entire electronics devices with our voice command.

And it can be controlled using visual interface system.

It can be controlled from miles away.

But i missed something, i should to know what is being captured by HAR if im using it to survey some dangerous area.

So i put my USB webcam into my pi and install new software, so i can see whats being captured by HAR in real time.

I will keep trying to give a lot of enhancement to my robot, and i hope, this robot can help us to do a lot of activities such as helping a car engineer to do some reparation, and many more.

I want to make HAR more bigger, also give it a new big arm chassis, so it can work perfectly if i used it to help a victim in an earthquake.

For the next upgrade, i will give HAR some ultrasonics sensor, in case the operator used it in a dangerous area, or maybe dark area, HAR will be capable to send the operator the information about the entire object around him.

Im still collecting my money to buy more stuff and implementing my upgrade plan. Plase support me by click the 'like' button.

After all, i have a conclussion, if this prototype can work great to solve many problem in my country, how about the world? I believe that, it can be used too. And i will keep believing.

This is Bill Of Material (BOM). I bought all of these stuffs in my country, Indonesia. But i have changed the currency to USD, so you can estimated the whole price if you want to make the similar project like mine.

You think its possible to do a full size humanoid? or we not quite there? I mean real deal. I believe we can. 3k?4k? how bad could it be? a full on robot body guard?

Im uneducated ect but im do it soon as im picking up this arduino like 2nd nature.

i heard @Radomir Dopieralski go on a rant about humanoids. they aren't very profitable other than looking cool.

They already exist, but they cost several $100k, and take whole research teams to program
