New EMG
07/29/2017 at 17:43 • 0 commentsThe new PCB's are in for the EMG. Hopefully with these cleaner connections and gold plating we can see cleaner signals. The new prototype is coming together well for our trip to China! The fabric electrodes are also much cleaner for the new mount.

New Brace!
07/24/2017 at 17:04 • 0 commentsThis our second attempt at a forearm brace. With the old one, we found it a little too cumbersome and heavy, especially for a patient who's muscles are already weak. Also the old brace was prone to slip if you moved your arm too much which would shift the EMG meaning that we could be reading from the wrong target muscle. This solution uses a lighter fabric, and an athletic grip tape to hold in place. We also redid the fabric electrodes to be cleaner and adjustable!
This brace also allows us to incorporate our central housing unit, so maybe it wasn't a waste!
More updates and pics about aesthetics and new EMG pcb's coming soon!

Project Update!
07/23/2017 at 22:19 • 0 commentsWith our impending trip to China, we've been working a lot on the prototype, and its presentation. A short list of impending updates such as:
new EMG PCB's will be here within the week.
A new sleeve that is less bulky, and won't slip
Utilization of a the central housing unit we made earlier.
Heat shrink tubing to help with wire management and cleaner aesthetics.
A small GUI made with MATLAB to better show what our project is doing in realtime.
I'll be uploading some more pictures and files soon!
We're excited for the Assistive Technologies portion of the Hackaday contests!
